The CSA will support the Smart Network and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS) in its tasks to provide guidance to and coordination of 5G deployment activities funded under CEF Digital 5G Corridors and other EU and national programmes such as the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
The expected outcomes will be the following:
1/ Contributing to the overall program consistency of deployment projects
2/ Facilitating Best practices exchange among the deployment projects
3/ Setup project pipelines and community building
4/ Definition of deployment scenarios and cooperation models
5/ Stimulation and facilitation of the preparation of 5G corridors projects
6/ Steering the overall process in a direction that is in line with the objectives set by the Commission in its CEF Digital Work Programme 2021-2023
7/ Liaison with member states through regular communications (mails, surveys and webinars) in order to capture their priorities
8/ Development and submission of the 5G Strategic Deployment Agenda updates in the areas of road and rail to the SNS board and member states
This guidance will contribute to consistency and best practice exchange among the projects, set-up project pipelines and community building. It will also contribute to the definition of deployment scenarios and cooperation models with the view to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of 5G corridors projects and steer the overall process in a direction that is in line with the objectives set by the Commission in its CEF Digital Work Programme 2021-2023.
The work of the CSA will build on the work already conducted as part of the two 5G Strategic Deployment Agendas that were released in 2020 in the areas of road and rail, under the coordination of the 5G Public-Private Partnership (5G-PPP) for road and European rail industry associations for rail.
